Extremely Early Sterling Silver Napkin Ring Birds Wendt? 1800s Nest High Relief:
$250

Description This is a very unusual and probably very rare sterling silver napkin ring. It is decorated allaround and in the monogram area are the words "MRS. N. (and another initial i can't read". There is an applied bird's nest in the front of the ring. Please note the eggs in the nest. This work was most likely done by JR Wendt the famous New York silversmiths from 1855-1870Markings The ring is not marked but is guaranteed to be sterling or coin silver. There is an engraved 52 inside the ring. Weighs 31.6 grams on a digital scale. oval shaped 1 7/8 at the widest across. 1 1/2 from front to back. 1 3/8 in tall. birds are 1 in across from wing to wing. just over 3/4 in from bottom of nest to top of wings. The ring is perfectly oval and in very good shape.I would consider adding a Buy it Now feature if you would like to make an offer.
