We recently acquired this RARE PAIR with a small collection of Sandra Sue dolls which we have pictured here and will be offering under separate listings, so please check our sales frequently to find that special little doll you may want to add to your collection!Sandra Sue dolls were made by Richwood Toy Company, which started as a cottage industry in 1948, growing to a successful business until it closed in 1958, and during that decade produced Sandra Sue dolls, primarily in the early to mid 1950\'s. The doll was considered a \"Fashion Doll\", 8\" to 9\" in height with a slim body and made of hard plastic with sleep eyes and jointed strung arms and legs, and this particular pair is 8\" tall, FULLY JOINTED and have the SARAN HAIR version and also FLAT FEET which would date them to around 1952!The dolls are wearing hard to find matching SKI OUTFITS which have pants and jackets with matching hats made of FELT FABRIC; one of them is dressed in red with green scalloped trim on the jacket, the other in green with red trim, and both have their original double breasted row of decorative white buttons! We love the festive Christmas COLORS of their outfits; we can envision doing an entire holiday SNOW SCENE around these two sweet little girls!The dolls both have BLONDE HAIR made of saran, blue SLEEP EYES, and fully jointed HARD PLASTIC bodies with slender frames, and they have the classic dark orange-brownish eyebrows and lashes! The condition of the dolls are generally good; the one in red has restrung arms and the metallic gold elastic band is missing from her pants. Please also note that originally these dolls would have had accessories including a scarf, mittens and either boots or shoes; we have included a picture from a recently published Sandra Sue collector\'s book showing a fully appointed doll in this outfit. Needless to say, to find this doll complete with all of the original accessories is a rarity, and despite a few stray hairs this sweet pair makes a CHARMING PRESENTATION!The dolls came with their original BOX LID in light turquoise blue, measuring 8 1/2\" tall by 7\" wide and 2 1/4\" tall.
