DESCRIPTION: Mermaid Lane, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia estateTHIS sale:gorgeous and early ANTIQUE french empire period solid gilt bronze clock with figural & astrological theme, the casting & gilding are EXCEPTIONAL; porcelain dial shows minor lines, wear. the world globe at top needs to be secured because the threading of the pin at the base / socket holding it in is worn, and there is paint wear on the globe as shown. the clock movement appears to be intact but DOES NOT RUN currently. the back plate covering the works is missing, NO KEY.Smaller size than most, approx 13.5" tall, x 10.25" x 3.25" deep. french, circa 1800-20this is a very special clock that will need some mechanical work...nonetheless, it is GORGEOUS!=PLEASE VIEW PICTURES BELOWproperty from an old chestnut hill estate collection we are currently featuring fine jewelry & antiques from several important estates & private sources. ...offer NOW!
