Here we have an absolutely beautiful late 1800\'s era ~ FANCY GUILLOCHE ENAMEL & GOLD PARASOL OR UMBRELLA HANDLE ~ Most likely off of a very fine antique parasol.It would also make a wonderful cane handle as well.I would just like to mention that I feel this handle actually looks much more impressive in person than my pictures depict! This would have been a fairly expensive parasol handle to purchase new back some 125 or so years ago that only the very affluent could afford. It is by far the nicest and finest quality example we have ever seen. The metal is probably gold filled or rolled gold as it is not marked. The handle measures approximately 2 1/2 inches long \" not counting the threaded screw portion\" by about 1 5/8 inches across. The total length with the threaded portion is 4 3/4 inches long. The over all condition is quite nice with only fairly minor signs of wear from age and use \"a few dings\".
