Fine Armorial Plate.flight Barr & Barr Royal Worcester 1820s For Sale
This is a fine Armorial dessert size plate by Royal Worcester. Flight Barr and Barr dating from around 1820s.
The backstamp is very feint but it can be seen and reads' FLIGHT BARR & BARR, ROYAL PORCELAIN WORKS, WORCESTER. LONDON HOUSE, I, COVENTRY STREET'
The crest in the middle is of a thistle surmounted by a banner which reads 'PRO REGE ET LEGE' (For King and Law)
There is a broad apple green coloured border and a gilded and fluted edge.
It measures 8.5 inches across.
The plate is sound but there are some scratches to the green and some wear to the gilding, as can be seen and is mentioned above.
