Hi, thank you for having a look at my items. This week we have listed over 100 Sterling Silver, Continental Solid Silver and Silver Plate sales. You just never see this many great and rarely seen fresh estate pieces like this come up for sale all at once. Up for sale with is a very fine c1790 Georgian Period Satin Wood Tea Caddy Jar or Box with a Period Georgian Sterling Silver Caddy Shovel or Spoon. The Box is the finest example I have sold in years with great inlaid designs throughout including a fine Burl oval inset in the top. The Box ix in nice condition for the age, there is some minor warping to the lid, age shrinkage and some old glue repairs, but photos show it well and I think it looks great overall. The Lock looks to be intact but I do not have a key to test it. I am also including the Sterling Silver Caddy Spoon that came with the box from the estate. The Spoon is a fine Seashell form with Bright Cut designs and has never been monogrammed. The Spoon is fully Hallmarked as seen in the photos, I believe the Date Letter would be for 1796. The Box displays very nice measuring 3-1/2" wide by 3" deep by 4" tall and the Spoon measures 3" long by 1-3/8" wide weighing 5 grams. Nice little lot that would make a fine addition to any collection or a lovely gift.
