Welcome to my sale - Up for your consideration is this beautiful vintage, hand painted Palekh, Russian lacquer box. This delightful box is exquisitely hand painted on a raised center with a scene from the tale \"A Little Humpbacked Pony\" featuring Ivan playing his flute for the pony. It is trimmed with finely detailed accents around the top and base. The hinged box is a double, having 2 open areas with red lacquer interior and is signed along the edge in Russian as shown. The first word is for Palekh, the next is the title followed by the artists initials AM. Age of the box is unknown.
PLEASE NOTE - This was acquired from the estate of a world traveler who frequented China and Russia and brought back several treasures. I was fortunate enough to acquire a few of her Chinese and Russian pieces (4 lacquer boxes) so please come back and check for the sales that I will be listing over the next week or so.

CONDITION - The box is in very fine, vintage, pre-owned condition. Some normal age/use surface wear, beautiful and well kept, no chips or cracks, very clean.

SIZE - It measures approximately 3 1/8\" square, 2 3/8\" tall.
