Up for sale with is a top quality 19th Century American Sterling Silver Flower Vase. The Vase is one of the finest quality examples I have ever sold, but then you would expect nothing less from a Top American Silver Company like Gorham. The Vase features a nice Victorian Trumpet form with the most incredible and finely detailed Repousse patterns of Flowers, covering the entire surface of the body. The Vase is so much more beautiful and impressive in real life being very thick Sterling Silver throughout with a quality weight of 243 grams. The Vase is also in really amazing condition with no dents, cracks, holes or repairs and has been stored in the Gorham felt bag you see in the photos for many decades. The Vase shows a nice original family monogram on the bottom that I believe reads M.S.B. April 30th 1891. I believe it was most likely given as a Wedding, 25th Anniversary Gift or for some other special occasion because this was a very expensive piece when bought new and would have been owned by someone of some wealth. The Vase is an impressive display piece measuring approx 6-3/4" tall by 4-1/8" wide across the body. This is one of my favorite pieces from the estate and I am sure the new owner will love it as much as I do or it would make an incredible gift for someone special.
