"florence Ceramics" Of Pasadena Copyright Ds Lady Figurine Artist Florence Ward:
THIS BEAUTIFUL "FLORENCE CERAMIC" PASADENA CA COPYRIGHT FIGURINE IS UP FOR offer.
Florence Ceramics was created in 1939 when a dynamic woman named Florence Ward set of a kiln and decided to take up modeling clay figures.
Florence set up her business and in 1948 moved The Florence Ceramics Company to a large facility in Pasadena, California where it remained until 1964, when the plant was sold to Scripto. From 1939 to 1964 Florence Ward was the sole designer for the many figurines that were produced by the Florence Ceramics Company. Her innovative designs were sold through fine jewelry and department stores and even established a following overseas.May Company in Pasadena was thefirst company to purchase some of her work.
These figurines and their lives dance along the real journy of time.
I bought this lady figurine and 2 others at an estate sale. Unfortunately there was no autheticity or boxes that came with these items. This is the first one of 3 that I have up for offer. This figurine is in great condition and I believe is one that Florence started making with real lace. It is very delicate and intricate. The flowers are a slight yellow in color with a tint of pink with gold trim on lace and leaves. Also a few circle designsin gold on skirt of the strapless dress. Her hair is blond and she has a flower over each ear.
There are no cracks or chips
All fingers are there and nails are painted red
Approximately 9" tall and 7" wide in skirt flow (base)
I have tried finding more information on these particular figerines that I have as to names and datesbut have found none.
THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY offerDING
