Magnificent huge French Gross A Lyons gilt bronze mantel clock dates to the 19th. century. The dial with a hairline has a name of the maker Gross A Lyons. The base is made with a black marble and trimmed with gold ormolu fittings. Fantastic rich composition. On the top of the clock sits a statue of a classical maiden holding a lyre and a putto at her side. The face of the clock is encircled with a shaped gilt-bronze bezel. The key is included, no pendulum. The gilded part are in perfect shape. The black marble has a few places with missing pieces. On the back by the legs, on the sides close to the statue, chip at the front. The clock is a museum quality, I\'m sure long time ago was a centerpiece in the palace. It does require some work to be in perfect shape. Size: h. 24\", w. 16.5\" d. 6.5\" Due to the weight approx. 40lbs and the size the clock needs to be ship with UPS or FedEx depends from the buyer.
