The only part not original is the professionally restored finish. The statue is as perfect as they get, the girl has all her fingers and toes, etc. The French clocks in our collection have not yet required any servicing and have kept perfect time for many, many years. What a beautiful clock! It has a high end signed Japy Frères 8-day time and strike movement, strikes the hours and half hour on a sweet sounding bell – perfect for a room you would like a very quiet clock. The ticking is barely audible. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. We have included some pictures of the movement– so you can see this clocks “inner beauty”! The movement is high quality with thick plates! (See picture). The movement runs very well and keeps good time. This is an 8 day movement but French movements are such a high quality they often go 14 + days on one winding! Has a very pleasant quiet ticking sound as it runs. The case is absolutely beautiful with a unique rare design! All the decorations are all there, all parts are there and complete, all the decorations, fingers, lamb etc. are complete, nothing is broken or missing! This clock is large and measures 18 inches high, 16 inches wide, and 7 inches deep. The case is beautiful with a super attractive design. The sides are as beautiful as the front. Complete with its adjustable French pendulum and a new key to wind it with; the small key to adjust the time for slow and fast at the top of the dial. The back is in great condition. It never had a “back door”. The glass over the dial is the original heavy bevel glass. If you want a rare and unusual high quality French mantel clock in superior condition THIS IS IT!
