Up for offer is a gorgeous jeweled and enameled double compact vanity purse from the late 30's/early 40's. It has never been used and is in excellent condition. The compact portion of the purse measures 2 and 1/2 inches in diameter. The brown/pink/blue with gold threads brocade fabric purse measures about 5 inches in diameter.

The top of the compact has a cream enameled center with golden highlights and nine pink and blue bezel-set jewels. A fancy art nouveau gold filigree border surrounds the cream enamel. The purse portion of the vanity bag is lined in a beige silk or rayon. The compact lid opens first to a covered powder well which contains the original unused powder puff. The inside top of the compact has a two-sided metal mirror that opens to a cake of rouge still covered with paper and the original unused rouge puff. There are no markings anywhere on the compact or purse, but I have seen very similar ones made by Evans.
