Fabulous Mid Century Art Deco Glass Cylinder Scene Lamp
Not your ordinary vintage lamp.Made to take a fabric or Fiberglas shade.
Top portion of the glass cylinder is a plain opaque white.The bottom portion features 4 different scenes surrounded with Art Deco styling borders.Cylinder measures 15.5\" tall x 3.25\" diameter.The cylinder does have a repair near the top. Professional level repair is exceptionally nice.When the shade is on the lamp this repair is hidden deep up under the shade and will not show.Without a shade the complete lamp measures approx 22\" tall.
The slag glass base is white with gold swirl accents and measures 7.5\" diameter x 3\" tall.Very cool original Bakelite button switch.Oh, and did I mention this is a fluorescent lamp?? One single bulb inside the cylinder.Puts out a very pleasant light throughout the entire cylinder for a beautiful even lighting affect.
Yes, I know, the shade I\'m picturing is not the right era or style, but it\'s all I had here. I just wanted to give you an idea what it looks like lit and shaded.You will get the pleasure of picking out the right shade to match your taste and your decor!The lamp includes 2 additional risers at the top in case your shade hangs a little too low or too high. The idea is not to cover up the scene panels.Each riser = 1\"The choice of shades will be phenomenalbecause of these risers.
The light works and the switch works, but as with any vintage electrical item I recommend a professional inspection / restoration.Very unusual and sure to become a favorite in your home!
