ROYAL FRENCH BLUE OPALENE EGG 1850

I have come up with yet another delightful Collectible Surprise for you to get excited about and to offer on. This one comes fromPARIS FRANCE. My wife and I were visiting dear friendsin PARIS, and my wife was having a ball in the the antique shops which were everywhere.

We were in the Large Famous AntiqueFlee Marketin the environsof Paris, France, which is an enormous oldshopping areathat attracts tourists from all over the world.

In a delightful silver shop my wife found this magnificent important and very rare HIGHLY DECORATED ANTIQUE ROYAL FRENCH BLUE OPALENE EGGwhich she could not pass up.

It is truly a magnificent collectors item and a favorite of my wife. The Egg lies horizontal and rises from 4 antique Ball Feet all in Gold Dore Bronze Ormolu, to a White Cararra Marble Disk Table 3.5" diameter. Upwards there is a decorative column with3 Umbrella Bells covering a round Amber Ball, and each hanging freely from the column. One Bellwith Ball is missing and was missing when we bought it, and this is the only problem from the Egg being pristene. There are no other marks or flaws

The horizontal Egg is in 2 halves, and it sits ona centercolumn. The upper half is firmly hinged to open andreveal a very decorative pierced traythat contains 4 separate ,square, hinged top, perfume bottles each with its original crystal stopper.The top half has very fancy pierced ormolu traceryto the center from which rises a round mound on which stands an upright Napolionic Soldier with feathered Helmet.

The dimensions of the Egg areapprox 4.5" long and approx 3" in diameter. The piece stands approx 9.5" tall to the Helmet of the Soldier, and is approx 6.5" wide to the outer ormolu handle arms. The snap closure is firm and holds tight.

Fancy Blue Opalene Eggs of thissuperior quality are very rare and, even in the Paris shopsto find one is unique and today it would be monstrously expensive.

In all it is a charming, valuable,memorable collectors item, and promote one to revel in exciting imaginative memories of their own past and present visits to beautiful Paris.
