The shape of the vase is very unique because it's bottom and the neck are almost at the same diameter with a smooth tapering top. The later vases (later Kangxi and following periods) transitioned to more "V" shaped vases. The motif on this vase is the two peacocks, signifying the king and the queen under a tree, which belongs to the early kangxi period. All around the two peacocks, there are plum trees and birds, signifying the ambiance and the servants. The enamels are also very nicely done with kangxi period characteristics. At the bottom the two column six character mark of Kangxi period is written in under glaze blue in double circles.Dimensions of the vase: Height: about 18 inches Foot and the bosom diameter: about 8 inches Mouth diameter: 5 inchesThe item is well built and is in good condition.
