Featherie/Feathery replica old golf ball.Hand made in cow hide,it has a genuine aged patina and colour very similar to the 18th and 19th century balls.This ball displays \"ALLAN 23\" to replicate the Allan Robertson ball from the early 1800\'s the \"23\" identifying the weight in drams as the ball weighs 40.7 grams which is approx 23 drams in the old weight system.I have taken the photos in different lights to give you a true representation of the colour, on handling it has a quality leather feel with the correct weight and very good compression,also it has the hand finished last stitch detail.I have taken the photos of the vernier tool showing the exact size diameter just over 4.1 cm aprox 1.62 inches.Like the balls from the 18th and 19th centuries it is not perfectly round due to the construction process used to produce it.With the attention to detail this ball is as close to the original featheries as you can get without spending around £8000.00 it would make a nice edition to any collection,a perfect golf gift or for use as a display purpose.please see the other vintage golf balls listed on buy it nows,including,brambles,boxed 1.62 size and mesh wrapped.
