Federal Telephone & Telegraph Model 161 Tube Radio:
This is a Federal Telephone& Telegraph Model 161 tube radio.Federal produced radios during the early 1920's. When sales started to slow down they re-introduced the model 59 and 61 as the 159 and 161. The radios are identical exept for the gold hardware and lettering. Very few of these were produced and they are hard to find. This radio is in a high quality reproduction cabinet. Someone did a really nice job building it. There is a very small split in the lid and a slightly larger split in the back. The chassis is wired the same as my model 61 and is complete. The #31 RF transformer is good. All the other RF and audio transformers have open windings. This radio does NOT work! The front panel has some light scratches and small chips. There were 3 holes drilled thru the panel that were later filled by someone. They are located directly above the secondary wavelength knob and can be seen in the pictures. This makes a beautiful display! Check out the pictures and my response. offer with confidence. This is a very large radio 24w x 13d x 17h and it's heavy. Very low reserve so offer and have fun!
