Fine 18th C Antique American Iron Rush Light Rushlight Early Lighting Aafa:
a collection of early lighting assembled throughout New England over
three decades ago, this is an outstanding example of an original
colonial period American rushlight.

Please take a moment click on the enlarge option below each image, and you'll find you can produce enlargements that help to showcase wonderful original condition and form.
Of particular note to the formation of the wrought iron elements was making the formation of the counter balance arm to include a formed socketed cup; allowing the owner to additionally capitalize on having the device hold wax and tallow candles. Fully intact, and near fine original condition. Beautiful 250+ year old lighting device exhibits only the slightest oxidation to the iron with some expected occasional wear to the base.
Truly one of the nicest examples from the private collection it was acquired from. We are pleased to offer this outstanding American rushlight for an sale period of one week, sold without reserve.
