Fine 18th Century French Silver Wine Taster w/ Inset Coin!
This wonderful wine taster is made of solid silver with French hallmarks on either side of the handle. It is decorated with grapes around the inside and has an inset Louis XIV
Coin that is marked LVD XIIII D G FR ET NAV REX on one side and SIT NOMEN DOMINI V BENEDICTVM 1652 on the other. It has a hand chased sun on the handle and written above Sol Lucet Omnibus (the sun shines upon us all). It measures approximately 3 + ¾ inches across including the handle by 7/8 of an inch tall to the rim and has a weight of 90.5 grams or 2.91 Troy ounces. It is in excellent condition, as can be seen in the photos.
