Very fine Chinese export porcelain tea caddy, minus lid, decorated with floral sprays in the famille rose palette and insects. Made during the reign of the emperor Qianlong(1735-1796) circa 1770. Unusually for export porcelain of this period this is made from soft paste having no translucency.
Measures 11.2cm in height.
Good condition overall. Some chipping to the base, firing flaw on one face and a short hairline crack which seems to run from this point.
