This is a superb quality piece of fine English Silver that would
grace any dressing table. It is a rare and unusually nice example of an Edwardian
Sterling Silver Ring Box made by the highly respected firm of Birmingham
Silversmiths G. E. Walton & Co Ltd(please study the detailed close-up
photographs provided, which form an integral part of this item's description).
This beautiful solid Silver Ring Box is rectangular in shape with
an Art Nouveau inspired embossed lid. The interior is finished in silver parcel
gilt with a blue lining. This fine quality box, which measures approx' 9cm by
5cm is approx' 32mm high and sits over four paw feet.
Of course this superb piece ofSilveris fully
hallmarked as shown in the photographs and it is stamped with the date letter
'l' for 1910. The overall condition of this piece, which is over 100 years old
is superb; it has no nasty dings or splits and only the lightest bruises, which
are unavoidable and commensurate with age. The interior has some movement in
the floor of the box, although it is still perfectly sound for use and
someof the corded edging has come loose, as can be seen in the photographs.
As normal in an unrestored piece ofthisage, the box would benefit
from careful cleaning but it is nevertheless a superb & rare piece of fine
