Fine George Ii Sterling Silver Caster Jabez Daniel London 1755 For Sale
We specialise in sourcing items that have ‘a story to tell’. The pieces we offer reflect the added value of a quality manufacturer; family and regimental crests and armorials; an interesting inscription, history or provenance; or innovative design. These convert ordinary or average items into something special and unique. Invest in value. Value endures when price is long forgotten.
On offer here is a very fine Georgian sterling silver baluster caster, with knop finial and feathered borders, hallmarked for Jabez Daniel, London 1755. Daniel was a specialist pepper and caster maker and his pieces are invariably of excellent quality. Weighing 89 g and measuring 12.5 cms (5 inches) in height, this pepper comes in very good condition commensurate with age; one or two shallow dents around the middle, not detracting. A lovely, functional, quality piece of Georgian silverware that can still be used and enjoyed to-day.
