George V Sterling Silver Torah Shield (TAS) Jacob Rosenzweig, London, England, 1919.

A George V sterling silver (NOT silver plated) Torah shield (TAS) by Jacob Rosenzweig, London, England, 1919.

The shield is made with scrolled foliate chased border, applied with two pierced pillars, two ramping lions and a Torah crown topped with a Star of David.

The pierced pillars are inscribed at their bottom with a personal dedication in English that reads: "Presented by Mrs. D. Sunderland / in memory of her Son and Daughter".

The center of the shield is applied with The Tables of The Decalogue which open on hinges to reveal a miniature model of a Torah scroll engrved with a Star of David and.

Also applied with a hinged plaque box with a silver plaque inscribed in Hebrew "Sabbath" on one side and "Passover" on the other.

Connected with a hanging chain.

Fully hallmarked (several times) for London, England, dated 1919, maker's mark for Jacob Rosenzweig.

Very good condition, recently polished and restored.
