Here is a lovely old early-mid 19th century Ottoman yataghan sword generally attributed to the north African regions of the empire. The sword, in this casea shorter yataghan, is 24in. overall, with a blade of 17in. The blade features two finely worked silver bolsters, and what appears to be a maker's mark. The hilt is of rare fiberous horn scales, with a silver strap worked in a floral motif. The all original scabbard is finely worked tooled leather over wood showing classic Ottoman brass stitching(one tiny area of damage to the center) and matching silverlocket and chape in a floral motif.
