Finest Antique 22ct Gold \'Forget Me Not\' Cluster Ring c1853Stunning set with a Natural Ruby & Six PearlsA stunning early Victorian 22ct Gold Ring dating to 1853, which is centrally set with a Ruby surrounded by six Pearls in cut back settings(please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This wonderful ring, which weighs 2.6 grams, has bifurcated shoulders with an applied leaf motif leading to the Ruby & Pearl set circular bezel that has a diameter of approx\' 9mm. This beautiful 19th Century ring combines the femininity and beauty of this bygone age in a ring that is quite simply sublime.
As you might expect this finest quality ring is stamped with a maker\'s mark \'WS\' and it is also stamped with a full British Hallmark, as shown, confirming that it is made from solid 22ct Gold and that it was assayed in Birmingham in 1853.
Overall the ring is in great condition for it\'s age with only wear commensurate with age; the hallmark is still relatively crisp and clear, which is indicative of the ring\'s condition and of how little it has been worn. It originally would have had a glazed locket back to hold amementosuch as a lock of hair but the glazed panel has been lost.
As shown the ring is a UK Ring Size \'J\', which equates to a US Ring Size \'4 3/4.As with almost all antique rings the band is slightly ovalized i.eit is not perfectly round and it measures slightly differently on the gaugedepending on how it is positioned, however this will not affect the ring whenworn.
