Five Vintage Asian Men Laundry Sprinkler & Soy Sauce Figural Pottery Bottles:
Up for sale are 5 vintage Asian men laundry sprinklers and soy sauce pottery bottles. I will describe them separately:(1) This laundry sprinkler has written "Sprinkle Plenty" on the front and he is wearing decorative trousers. He is holding an iron in his left hand. No markings on the bottom. Metal sprinkler cap in worn but good condition. There is some crazing under right hand and back. Unfortunately, this bottle has a chip and repair on the right foot--please see final photo. No other cracking or chips. He is approximately 8 inches tall.(2) This sprinkler has "Me Wet-ee You Iron-ee" emblazoned on his front. Hands folded. Some light crazing. Worn sprinkler cap but it's still there! No cracks, repairs or chips. No markings on the bottom. He is approximately 7-3/4 inches tall.(3) This soy sauce bottle has "Chinese Soy Sauce" on front, which is positioned above a wok, fish, chopsticks, and bowl. He has a cork. He is holding a large knife (cleaver?) in his left hand. There is a spout to pour soy sauce. I just noticed a small chip at base of collar (let me know if you need an extra photo of this as I have used up all my 12 photos)--I'm hoping it shows up when you zoom photos above. Some light crazing. On the bottom is a label that says "Exclusive BP Japan." He stands approximately 7-3/4 inches tall. No other chips, cracks or repairs that I can see. (4) This laundry sprinkler has his arms folded. Metal cap in good condition but a little loose. Some crazing. Written on bottom of bottle is "The California Cleminsons / Hand Painted." There are some tiny chips on base (feet). Please see penultimate photo. Now that I am looking more closely at this one as well, I see a very tiny chip at end of sleeve on right folded arm ... one should be able to see this in a zoomed photo above. He stands approximately 8 inches tall. On the metal cap it says "Pat. 2071101." (5) The last sprinkler also has his arms folded. "Sprinkle Plenty" is written on his front. His outfit is adorned with flowers. No markings on the bottom. There is just some light crazing. Metal cap in good condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. He stands approximately 8 inches tall.
Anyway, these were part of my one of my Mom's collections. I think they are really cool! They do need a bit of a clean, but quite frankly I'm afraid to do it myself ... worried I'll break them. Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!
