Five Vintage Antique Limoges Game Bird Plates :

This is a set of 5 vintage Limoges china plates. Each plate is 8 inches in diameter. The rim of each plate is lime green,with an inner circle of greenish-yellow then the center of each plate contains a painted natural scene depicting birds. One plate features a male and female green -winged teal, another a male wood duck with duckling, a third plate shows a pair of chukar partridges and two plates,show a pair of grouses. There are no chips on any of these plates. The colors are vibrant and the surfaces of the plates are glossy. There are a few fine scratches here and there which can be observed by close scrutiny and by angling the light. I am no expert on vintage china, but these plates appear to have never been used and are in beautiful condition. As seen in the photo of the reverse side of one plate, the glaze has very fine crackling consistent with it being old. I also have a 6th plate, another grouse plate, that I\'ll include in the lot, that has 3 small chips at the edges. The subject matter, colors, and execution of the artwork are gorgeous!
