This is a fabulous vintage tin wind-up toy, a Freight Ship made by Fleischmann! The boat is marked MADE IN US ZONE GERMANY on the smoke stack and Made in Western Germany on the bottom of the hull. This model is very difficult to find. Based on only two other sales that I have ever seen in the past few years, I would place the value between $700 and $1500.00. I have seen only one on and it went for $700 but it was repainted. This one is original.

The wind-up key is original and the spring mechanism is sound and works magnificently!! It winds up smoothly and spins the propeller consistency and freely without any interruption or peculiar noises. There is no evidence of any use in water.

Please use the Zoom feature by holding the mouse over the imagein my 12 detailed photographs for close-up views. The "Fleischmann" logo on the Transom Looks spectacular. The tin on the deck of the ship is very nice and intact. All of the metal clips are still there and have never been tampered with. The Lifeboat davit arms are secure and adjustable with good resistance. The cargo hold doors flip open nicely and are secure. The rudder is still tight and adjustable. There are no loose parts.

There is some standard wear and tarnishing as I have well depicted in my photo's, slight warping on the starboard bow railing, some metal corrosion on the forward deck hatch. There is some crazing on the deck but overall most of the deck details are nice (see photo's). There is absolutely NO evidence of any paint touchup or repairs whatsoever! The red and black paint on the hull is shiny, Above the waterline there is one black paint chip on the Port Stern side and hard to see scuff on the Port Bow, including one black chip on the Starboard bow side. Below the waterline is some minor scraping on the bow and paint peeling on the propeller. The crinkling on the bottom of the hull is original and from the manufacturing process.

The two masts, the flag, and the box are not available however the support posts are in good condition.

This item will be shipped insured, in a 6" x 12" x 15" box and will be bubble wrapped and stabilized securely with packing beads.
