A beautiful collectible U.S. postage stamp issued on June 29th, 1995 to honor Frederick Douglas, a leading spokesman of American Blacks during the 1800's who devoted his life to the abolition of slavery and black rights. During the Civil War, he became an important advisor to Abraham Lincoln and was instrumental in recruiting blacks for the Union Army.
This stamp has never been used and is as fresh as the day it was sold at the Post Office 18 years ago! Suitable for framing or adding to a memorable scrapbook, it would make a great gift to anyone who collects Civil War or Frederick Douglass memorabilia!
