French Art Deco Oval Serving Dish/Platter “1925 Charleston Collection” By Jean Couzon

A large, very Art Deco styled serving dish/platter with geometric-design handles, in exceptionally good condition. This eight-sided, oblong dish is part of the limited edition issue by the Jean Couzon silversmith company, one of the most prestigious producers of fine silverware and tableware in Europe.

The 1925 Charleston Collection was created just after WWII using some of the most elegant Art Deco designs produced in the 1920\'s and \'30\'s and reissued in modern materials. The tray itself is in highly polished stainless steel (inox in French) and the geometric fan patterned handles are in heavy brass, with a rectangular guilloche center.

It is in excellent condition - no scratches, dings or dents and only faint traces of a very few fine lines in the center part. The polished edge is pristine as are the brass handles. The dish is 14 1/4 inches (36 cms) long and 9 inches (23 cms) wide. It weighs 1.95 lbs.

Also listed are a matching tray and two circular serving platters/dishes in the same collection.

Jean Couzon tableware and serving pieces were and still are very much part of elegant French dining and pieces of the 1925 Charleston Collection are increasingly difficult to find as they have become collectibles, especially in such a fine condition.

Items are sent from France so the postage costs are in Euros. There is currently almost 20% difference between the Euro and the USD (1$US = 0.78€) and an increase in the cost of tracked shipping services by the French Post Office as of January 2015 as well as the elimination of the small parcels service. If there is a difference between what you paid as postage costs and the actual costs converted into USD, I will refund you the difference

Returns are accepted if the description was deficient. If there is a problem, please send me an email within 14 days of receipt of the item, explaining the situation and I will reply as quickly as possible. The item must be sent back in the original condition it was received and in the same packaging.
