A stunning French solid sterlingsilver double egg cup. It is hallmarked with the Minerva head mark signifying950 standard silver i.e. purer than sterling at 925 along with the maker’s markMA. I would date it to c1900-1910. It has been beautifully designed having two sizecups and has been finely decorated with eagles. It is in superbcondition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures over 2 inches(5.2cms) tall by almost 1.75 inches (4.3cms) across its widest end and weighs 42grams. A beautifully made high quality piece.
