Spelter Pair Of French Moroccan or Indian Candlestick pair.This listing is for a 19th century pair of French spelter patina polychromed figural candlesticks of unknown metal. The candlesticks measure 15 inches x just under 5" at base.As you can see by the photographs the candlesticks are in the Indian or Morroccan style, and feature a man and women wearing tunics are very ornate and jewelry. I believe they are a they are a matched pair as you can tell by the way they stand next to eachother, with subtle differences in the base - see photos. The bases are decorated with floral decorations. The candlesticks may have their original polychrome finish although the differ and the male looks less worn.The condition of the candlesticks is good with very little restoration needed, perhaps just the finish.I see repair tin the bottom of the female, as well as a separation in the torso area- see detailed photo. Male has chip very top (handle of pot he is holding)The candlesticks date to the late 19th century to about 1890. Partial label on both bottoms.
