Funky Lotus Pottery Devon Large Bull Skipworth:
This sale is for a large and collectable Lotus Pottery bull.
The Lotus Pottery was founded in 1958, by Michael and Elizabeth Skipworth, and was originally known as the Loversall Pottery, changing its name to Lotus Pottery when it moved to Stoke Gabriel near Totnes in Devon. The pottery declined during the 80s and finally closed in 1999. Its animal and bird figures are now becoming highly collectable.
This bull has a mass of curls between the horns which is quite unusual as they are more commonly smooth all over.
The bull is 9 inches from nose to tail and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. You will see from the photograph that one of the horns is slightly different to the other, however both horns are completely glazed so any difference is in the manufacturing process and not damage.
For international buyers nothing will be sent by surface mail - it takes too long and things tend to go missing or get broken.
