I have for sale a very rare tall case or grandfather clock , made by GEORGE EBERMAN of LANCASTER PENNSYLVANIA . This clock stands 107" tall , it is a really impressive clock , I need to stand on my tippy toes to wind it and i'm 5'10" tall . This clock is marked #13 on the dial which means it was the 13th grandfather clock made by MR. EBERMAN . He came from a long family of clock makers and their clocks are highly prized by clock collectors . the EBERMAN family made clocks from the late 1700's to the mid to late 1800's . this was made by GEORGE EBERMAN IN LANCASTER PENNSYLVANIA ABOUT 1844 or so , he had a clock ,watch and jewelry store .He also served in the civil war as a private in the 15th PENNSYLVANIA REGIMENT AND THE 122ND REGIMENT . His clock dials are all numbered with 17 being the highest known number reported to date . THIS CLOCK IS ALL ORIGINAL except the eagle finial and the moon roller wheel was repainted by Frank Machera in the 1980's on top, the finish is original, very few chips in the veneer and no damage to the clock or case . this clock runs and strikes perfect and keeps perfect time , everything works, it has just been serviced and is ready for 100 more years of telling time . This clock has a very colorful history , It came from a very well known family here in Dutchess county NEW YORK , it was in the Brinkerhoff estate here in FISHKILL , NEW YORK , The Brinkerhoff name is tied back into the revolutionary war days . George Washington spent time at the estate along with Marquis de Lafeyette who was sick and stayed at the Brinkerhoff estate in 1778 . The Brinkerhoff family has a school amongst other things named after them here in Dutchess county . search item number 400510798039 for the picture of the house this clock came from .I really hate to sell this clock but I have a son going to college .
