Document related to a meeting of the board of directors of "WRIGHT-DITSON" SPORTING GOODS COMPANY SIGNED BOLDLY BY BASEBALL HALL OF FAME MEMBER GEORGE WRIGHT

Also signed by IRVING WRIGHT (Son of George Wright and early 20th century Tennis champion Won 1917 & 1918 US Open , beat Bill Tildon) , JULIAN CURTISS (Pioneering promoter of Golf in USA designed the FIRST basketball in association with the sport's inventor James Naismith Died-1944) , H. BOARDMAN SPALDING, BEALS WRIGHT (Son of George Wright , won Olympic Gold Medal 1904, won US Open 1904-1906, Member of the Tennis Hall of Fame , Died-1961) and two others Measures 8 1/2 x 14 Document has very minor normal creases and folds.

George Wright's autograph is exceedingly rare. A true baseball pioneer as a player from 1869-1882 for Boston in the National Association , The Boston Red Stockings and Providence Grays and later as a sportsman in Golf, Tennis & Hockey. He was the first batter in the history of the National League. Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 he died that same year. An amazing "find" and the cornerstone of any 19th century baseball or sports autograph collection.
