Georgian Buffalo Horn Penner Inkwell & Sander Pounce Pot Writing Desktop 1790s:
This is for a nice compact Georgian buffalo horn penner from the late 1700s with strong markings in the dark grain. A penner was a type of writing compendium popular at the time. This one is in three pieces all that screw together and a tapered form. It has the pounce poton the baseand then the inkwell stands on top with its original lid. The pounce pot is ashort cylinder which has perforated holes on the inside, perforations sit lower than the rim of the sander so powder can be poured on the top and then shaken inside to re fill. It is in very good condition with onlylight wear and one tiny nick tothe rim of the pounce pot. When all together it measures 30mm (1") in diameter at the base and stands 94mm (3.75") tall.
