GEORGIAN IRISH Solid Silver LARGE SAUCE GRAVY BOAT Hallmarked 1762 Sterling NR
SUPERB & RARE - DUBLIN - 6 1/2 troy oz. - VERY RARE
This is a really outstanding GEORGIAN IRISH solid sterling silver large sauce boat or gravy boat which was made in Dublin, Ireland in about 1762. This wonderfully stylish and fine quality sauce boat is in superb condition. This wonderful sauce boat is in a stunning design with a capped double scroll handle. It is NOT engraved. The sauce boat measures 4 1/2" tall by 3" wide andis 6 3/4" long from handle to lip.It is VERY substantial - it weighs200.1 grams -almost 6 1/2troy oz.
The sauce boat is in very good condition with a little less than the usual light surface scratching and NO dents, splits or repairs, less than the usual slight compression to the base and the usual small collection of minor dings collected over 250 years of use - SUPERB. It is hallmarked underneath the base with crowned harp standard mark (Irish sterling silver assay mark), Hibernia mark showing that it was hallmarked in Dublin in about 1762. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A really lovely and very rare IRISH GEORGIAN sauce boat in SUPERB condition afterover 250 years as you can see from the photographs - at a VERY low start and . Postage will be 4.50GBP both within the UK and to international destinations.
