Georgian Silver Gilt Folding Fruit Fork Mother Of Pearl Mop Hm1828 Sheffield Nr For Sale
This genuine Georgian folding fruit fork measures 88mm (3.5'') closed and 160mm (6.25'') open and weighs 29 grams. Ii is fully hallmarked for English sterling silver sheffield 1828 with the makers mark I.L for John Littlewood. The handle is mother of pearl and very well decorated with an inlaid cartouche with the contemporary name E Allum engraved on it and is suprisingly undamaged.The fork is bright cut and has some very hard to polish out marks to the reverse (photo8), the spring is still present but corroded and is fairly week but structurally sound (photo7). A good Georgian hallmarked example of a fruit fork in need of a little help.International buyers are always welcome to this sale. F.M.O.C.
