DESIGN: An elegant and highly rare vintage Modern Atomic Space Age Brass Tripod \"Rocket Base\" floor lamp designed by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier lighting designs circa 1954. Essentially designed to mimic the profile of a highly stylized Rocket Ship/Missile circa 1950\'s. The parts are manufactured of solid Brass with a tapered Walnut Dowel core and are extremely well machined and manufactured. CONDITION: This striking Iconic Mid Century Modern lamp is in exceptional original condition, completely intact andfully functional. Primarily polished brass which exhibits just faint signs of wear and slight patina with no damage or repair evident. The elegant Walnut dowel post is striking and free of any obvious scars or scratches, just a few bumps near the bottom. The socket/shade diffuser assembly is all original super clean overall and free of damage with just a slight heat deflection to the plastic diffuser dish. The 3-way power switch, sockets and power cord appear original and have been inspected and are clean, safe and functional. To find one of these styles in any condition is a rare moment, but completely intact and in such fine condition you will likely not find another...it doesn\'t get much better?DIMENSIONS: The lamps general dimensions are 52\" tall with an overall width of 17\' to the tripod base, the shade is 19\" diameter…bulbs are NOT included.
