Up for sale is a rare pair ofbondage bootsbyRiccardo Tisci for Givenchyfrom the legendaryFall/Winter 2009-2010collection. The shoes are a unisex size40. For men, that is approximatelyequivalentto UK 6,5 or US 7,5. For women, it is aUK 7 or US 9.The shoes are in excellent used conditionand are100% authentic, with a retail price of$1420 in 2009. Handmade in Italy. A/W 2009-2010 was the collectionthat brought Givenchy to everyone's attention. These shoes are atestament of the time when Tisci designed some of the most avant-garde fashion the world had ever seen.Riccardo Tisci's groundbreaking from this period were incredibly hard-to-find even in retail, and I cannot overstate how rare of an opportunity it is to find these shoes in such an excellent shape and in such a rare size.In my view, they are unique in the way they combine a traditional handmade construction with an avant-garde aesthetic and innovative materials. Theclassic lace-up design is transformed into a biker-inspired back zip boot, and is covered by thick elastic bands to produce the shoes' Helmut Lang-inspired bondage silhouette.The shell resembles a derby shoe and is made from thick and structured calf leather in a deep black colour. The sole is a traditionallymade using stacked leather, with the heel being nailed in place like all handmade shoes. The 'wrapped' shaft of the boot is made from a soft neoprene-like material, making the shoes very comfortable to wear. The shoes can be easily put on with a metal zip on the back.As you can see in the photos, the shoes have been worn sparingly and are in excellent shape. Theylook amazing and have years of life ahead of them. In my opinion these shoes perfectly
demonstrate Tisci's main design principles for Givenchy. The quality of the materials used is of an
extremely high standard, and so is the exquisite craftsmanship that has been employed in the shoes' construction. At the
same time, their design isa unique and very luxurious, with meticulous attention paid to even the most basic
details.
