WE PURCHASED THIS DOLL FROM THE SON OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER. HE TOLD ME THAT HIS MOTHER WAS BORN IN 1894 AND SHE RECEIVED THIS DOLL AS A SMALL CHILD.
GORGEOUS FRENCH 1890's JUMEAU BISQUE HEAD DOLL
SHE IS 23" TALL
THE WIG IS MOHAIR WITH THE ORIGINAL CARDBOARD PATE STILL ATTACHED. I WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO REMOVE THE WIG.
STUNNING PRESSED BISQUE HEAD IS IN FANTASTIC CONDITION, NO CRACKS, CHIPS, BREAKS, CHIPS OR HAIRLINES. BROWN GLASS EYES ARE FIXED IN PLACE.
HEAD IS MARKED ON THE BACK WITHEITHER A LOWER CASE "G"or"9" or BACKWORDS "C" (SEE PICTURE BELOW) ALSO A "1" ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HEAD.
PIERCED EARS WITH NO CHIPS. OPEN MOUTH WITH TEETH INTACT.
I CLEANED THE DOLL FACE WITH A LITTLE WATER BUT IT IS STILL DIRTY FROM YEARS OF STORAGE AND CAN USE A GOOD CLEANING.
BODY IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE, STRINGING NEEDS TO BE TIGHTENED. SHORT CHUBBY HANDS WITH ALL FINGERS INTACT, RIGHT HAND HAS SOME CHIPPING ON THE FINGERS. LEGS AND FEET ARE IN GOOD SHAPE.
COMES IN ORIGINAL DRESS. FANTASTIC DETAILS.
