Gorgeous C1890s French Playing Card Nain Jaune Board Game Beautiful Graphics For SaleThis is a stunningly beautiful and ornate c1890s Parisian playing card board game called Regle du Nain Jaune. Apparently this is a traditional French card game. The box is maroon faux reptile paper over lightweight wood with a sliding cardboard lid. The lid has paper instructions pasted on the underside (in French). The interior has five removable cardboard trays with beautiful paper inserts. Once all the trays are lifted, there is a gorgeous paper-lined box with graphics identical to the ones in the bottoms of the boxes. The graphics are multi-colored, highly detailed, and the interior graphic still has its shiny gilt highlights. The graphics involve a highly detailed joker, three face cards, and a numberless ten of diamonds. The box is significantly worn with some edge losses and an unstable bottom. The trays have edge wear and moderate interior soiling. The interior graphic is in superb condition. All graphics remain bright and beautiful. There is nothing else in the box. This item would make outstanding wall art in a parlor or game room. 11.5" x 9.5" x 1.5".
