Historic McIntyre Mining Claim20 Acre Lode Claim - Red Mountain District – Ouray County, Colorado

Gold Rush Expeditions, Inc. is proud to present the Historic McIntyre Gold Mining Claim. This is a 20 acre lode mining claim for sale exclusively through Gold Rush Expeditions, Inc. The claim is located just outside of Ouray, Colorado and has been properly staked and marked at all corners. All Gold Rush Expeditions, Inc. claims have been meticulously surveyed, mapped and researched. Field work is completed by our own experienced, well versed Mine Survey Team.

A large and producing site, there is unfortunately very little history to be found on the claim. This abandoned gold mine was recently explored and documented by Gold Rush Surveyors. Research showed that the claim was never patented, which in this case assumes that the mine operators were making a good profit and did not want to report it or pay taxes. The largest tell tale sign of the site being a big producer is the amount of free-milling gold that can be picked right out of the old ore bins. Gold Rush surveyors took quite a few samples to showcase the richness of the site. This mining claim has not been worked in any documented way in at least 60 years. The last work appears to have been done in the early 1950s.

This claim is located south ofOuray, Colorado. Just at the top of the road in Ironton. The road that provides access is the infamous Million Dollar Highway. It does close during the winter months and access will be limited to snow machines only. There is year round running water that can be used in support of washing gold. Free-milling gold, quartz and pyrite ores found in both the stream, the ore bins and the tailings pile. The mines were reclaimed in 2013-4, the water was diverted and given a clean bill of health. The real treasure will be in getting into the underground and seeing the old workings. The tunnels are conservatively estimated to be at least 3000\'.

Minerals in the MineHistorically the McIntyre was mined for gold. Surveyors saw gold, pyrite, iron and quartz around the site and in the tailings/stream.Foot Traffic in the MineNoneLast WorkedUnknownSurvey NotesThe mine is stunningly large for not having a specific name assigned to it. The USFS has documented it as the McIntyre Mine, so named for McIntyre Gulch where it resides. The mine is accessed by a good 4WD road that runs directly to the claim site. This road has likely been improved when the water diversions were implemented by the USFS in 2013-4. Ore bins are in good shape and are filled with good ore that could be processed as it sits. There is free-milling gold visible in the ores and it is not difficult to find. Based on the dumps and ore stores, it is estimated that the adit is between 3000-3500\'. It may be much larger, but will not be much less. Gold stacked in the ore bins is likely the lowest of the grades from the mine as it was left when the mine closed up. Highly recommended for a small company that can implement a Plan of Operations and re-open the mine to find the richest of the deposits and high grade the same. WeatherWeather data from nearby city - Ouray, ColoradoDistrict OverviewRed Mountain District InformationHistory:The Red Mountain District was recognized by Henderson (1926), who noted that the district over lapped the Sneffels and Uncompaghre Districts. Vanderwilt also recognized the district and Burbank included a description in the classic 1947 volume on Mineral Resources of Colorado. Dunn points out that the Red Mountain was one of the original six districts defined in 1882 for Ouray County, of which the Mount Sneffels (Sneffels) and Uncompahgre (Ouray) are still in Ouray County. The district was being thoroughly explored by the 1870s. The earliest discovery in the area was in San Juan County in 1881. Production declined significantly by 1900, with later bursts of activity during the two world wars. During the district\'s heyday some of the large mines spawned development of vibrant (but short-lived) settlements such as Red Mountain Town, Guston, Old Congress Town and Ironton. Eberhart\'s classic book on Colorado Mining Camps contains some stories about those early towns.[1]Geology:Moore defines the geography of the district. He says it extends across the county line to the headwaters of Mineral Creek in San Juan County (over Red Mountain Pass). Its extends from the northern end of Ironton Park south to the three Red Mountains (#1, #2, and #3) and Mount Abram and west to the divide above Red Mountain Creek. The mineralization is the same as - and continuous with - those of the Telluride and Sneffels Districts. The area lies on the northwest rim of the Silverton caldera in a marginal zone of ring faults. Some older rocks of the Ouray and Leadville limestones and the Hermosa Formation crop out in the Ironton Basin, but further south they are mainly the Silverton volcanic series with the San Juan tuff on the west side of the district. The most productive mines lie in a zone about a mile wide and four miles long. Most of the districts production came from chimney-like ore bodies in or near breccia pipes and volcanic plugs, filling open spaces and caves or replacing altered wall rock. Burbank describes some nearly solid copper-silver sulfide bodies. Copper is more abundant than is typical in the area (and in fact in Colorado), and many veins contained massive bodies of lead and zinc sulfides.[1]Records during the period 1881-1896 indicate a total production amounting to 69,127tons of ore valued at approximately $2,603,875.00 from the volcanic pipe explored with OME participation. Production for the same period from the whole district was valued at approximately $7,700,000.00.[2]References:

NBOM RECORDED

It\'s hard to make an accurate assessment of mines and mining claims today. The history, the books and the documents change over time. Universities and Agencies seem to write and release documentation designed to deter the average miner.

The National Bureau of Mines is a sister company of Gold Rush Expeditions. Built to fill the void left by the dissolution of the US Bureau of Mines in 1994. We feel that these mines and their history need to be recorded and kept up to date. With that in mind, we examine each mine. We document and map out the workings and the ground around the mines. We research the history and document all aspects of the property. Then we make a physical visit to the mine and determine its actual potential. All of this we do to document the history and the potential future of these mining claims.

All of this information is then put into a single file which is updated whenever there is activity on the claim. A certificate of ownership gives full access to the registered owner of the claim, at any time with no cost except actual shipping.

The National Bureau of Mines does not represent, authorize or authenticate any mining claims made by “Department of Land Transfer Information” or “Steven Cyros”. Any other use of the National Bureau of Mines name or logo is fraudulent and a blatant attempt to deceive.

Nor does this sale represent any effort by individuals to raise money or find investors for Businesses. A mining claim is not ownership of the land. It is full control of locatable minerals. The BLM defines located minerals as: * Locatable minerals include both metallic minerals (gold, silver, lead, copper, zinc, nickel, etc.) and nonmetallic minerals (fluorspar, calcite, mica, certain limestone and gypsum, tantalum, heavy minerals in placer form, and gemstones). (Edited from: The General Mining Law of 1872, as amended, opened the public lands of the United States to mineral acquisition by the location and maintenance of mining claims. Mineral deposits subject to acquisition in this manner are generally referred to as “locatable minerals.” A lode claim is defined as: \"Jefferson-Montana Copper Mines Co., 41 L.D. 321(1912), established the full test for a lode claim: “To constitute a valid discovery upon a lode claim, three elements are necessary: 1. There must be a vein or lode of quartz or other rock-in-place, 2. The quartz or other rock-in-place must carry gold or some other valuable mineral deposit, 3. The two preceding elements, when taken together, must be such that as to warrant a prudent man in the expenditure of his time and money in the effort to develop a valuable mine.” Additionally, Federal statute does not describe what constitutes a valuable mineral deposit; therefore the government has adopted the “prudent man rule.” This rule determines value based on whether or not a person will consider investing time and money to develop a potentially viable mineral deposit. This rule was first stated by the DOI in 1894, in the adjudication of Castle v. Womble, 19 L.D. 455 (1894), the holding of which states: “…where minerals have been found and the evidence is of such a character that a person of ordinary prudence would be justified in the further expenditure of his labor and means, with a reasonable prospect of success in developing a valuable mine, the requirements of the statute have been met.” Note, this is site is not subject to the Cave Protection act of 1988, as Federal Law states: 16 USC Sec. 3378&01/08/2008 Sec. 3378. Miscellaneous provisions -STATUTE- (d) Existing rights Nothing in this chapter shall be deemed to affect the full operation of the mining and mineral leasing laws of the United States, or otherwise affect valid existing rights. -SOURCE-(Pub. L. 100-691, Sec. 9, Nov. 18, 1988, 102 Stat. 4550.) REFERENCES IN TEXT The mining laws and mineral leasing laws of the United States, referred to in sub sec. (d), are classified generally to Title 30, Mineral Lands and Mining. The information above is cited from the official Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management page.
