AN EXTREMELY RARE EARLY 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN HAND TURNED LARGE SIZE WOODEN DEEP BOWL. NEW ENGLAND, CIRCA 1800-1830 IN FANTASTIC AND BOLD TIGER MAPLE IN GREAT OLD GRUNGY SURFACE AND PATINA.

TIGER MAPLE BOWLS THIS SIZE SIZE ARE EXTREMELY RARE.
THE STRIPING IS BOLD AND DARK. THE PIECE STILL RETAINS SOME OF ITS ORIGINAL OLD GRUNGY DARKENED SURFACE AND PATINA.

THIS BOWL IS MUCH BETTER IN PERSON. THE PHOTOS MAKE IT APPEAR LIGHTER AND BRIGHTER THAN IT IS.

About 17 3/4\" across, with nearly an inch of shrinkage and 5 3/4\" tall.

Typical wear and imperfections with age. Like most of the tiger maple bowls there is one old shrinkage crack, (see photos). It is about 5\" long but it is still tight and strong.
