Gustav Becker German Antique Wall Clock Free Swinger 100%all Original Runs Great:
This is a BEAUTIFUL 100% ALL ORIGINAL example of a Large Gustav Becker German Wag on Wall or sometimes called Free Swinger Clock in Superior condition. German Wall clocks are of the highest quality, with Gustav Becker being one of the very best and most famous and sought after of all German Makers. It was made in Germany circa 1890. The Gustav Becker clocks in our collection have not yet required any servicing and have kept perfect time for many, many years. This particular model is in rare and beautiful condition. It has a signed 8-day time and strike movement, which chimes the half-hour and counts the hours on the original signed large DOUBLE cathedral gong with a beautiful sound. I believe it is the most beautiful cathedral gong we've ever heard… The movement is attached to its original seat board which slides out for easy adjustment and viewing. The movement is clean and in perfect running order and is signed. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. An amazing thing is that these German movements are so well made, but few makers ever signed them with this clock being a rare example. The case has neat sound holes in the side so you can hear the movement doing it job! The front door and the side doors opens to making inspecting and adjusting the movement very easy. This clock is large and measures 33 inches high, 15 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. The glass is the original convex glass. The clock has a nice quiet way it ticks also. The case is rare and beautiful with a rare design. It looks like it is made of walnut or mahogany. The dial is in superior original condition, very crisp and easy to read with an antique patina. (See picture). Original hands. The crown is original as well as the pendulum. A new key is included. Retains its original wall stabilizers!
