Garcia Conolon Model 2500 Ultra Light Spinning Rod Fiberglass Ferrules

Here is a quality Garcia Conolon Brown No. 2500 ultra light fiberglass spinning rod. The rod is marked "Ultra Light Action 1/16-1/4 oz. lures 1-6 lb. line 5' 152 Cm", "Pat. Pend. (probably for the glass ferrule)" and "Made In U.S.A." Note the internal fiberglass ferrules that "flex with the rodinstead of stiffening it... helping to eliminate dead or flat spots and unsightlybulges that can hinder the rod's precision action", according to my 1979 Garcia Annual catalog. This rod was made near the end of U.S. production and arguably represents the peak of Garcia Conolon quality. Note also the full cork grip with sliding bands, sturdy foulproof guides, and the fancy winding check & butt wrap - looks like Garcia was trying to compete with Fenwick. Rod is full, original length with equal length butt and tip sections. The brown fiberglass shaft shows only light wear. All wraps are tight and the ferrules fit well. No bag or tube. A fine rod to fish or collect!
