Own an authentic piece of US military and commercial diving history.This helmet was purchased for the movie “Men of Honor” – starring Robert De Niro, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Charlize Theron, but was never used and never went in the water.
Manufactured 10-99, it was purchased after the production for display by Frogmen Unlimited, a stunt and underwater production support company.
DESCO Mark V helmets are manufactured to the original specifications and drawings prepared by the U.S Navy Bureau of Ships in 1942 war contract. Helmet shells are spun copper and breastplates are hand pounded on the original 1940’s mandrels, no machine stamped. These methods give the helmets a handcrafted individuality.
Prefer local inspection and pickup, or can deliver within 120 mile radius. Helmet is located in Tehachapi, CA (120 miles north of Los Angeles) so can be picked up or delivered to Los Angeles or as far north as Santa Barbara, CA.
If shipped, it will shipped at the buyer’s expense; UPS inured in two boxes: Helmet 40 pounds; Breastplate 32 pounds. Wait for invoice with shipping costs based on your location before paying.
