Georg Jensen And Wendel Ladies Sterling Silver Cigarette Case 40's:
GEORG JENSEN & WENDEL STERLING SILVER LADIES CIGARETTE CASE. This is a ladies cigarette case made in Copenhagen, Denmark between 1945 and 1951. It is all clearly marked on the inside edge of the covers. The condition is quite good, but does show the usual signs of use. The silver is heavier than the Victorian cases, almost a dime thick. Closed it measures 3 1/8 X 2 3/8 inches. The spring is very tight. It does not snap shut, you have to depress the lever, close and release. It is a great size for those small, hand rolled cigarette that people make (W). A very simple design. On Aug-22-13 at 13:40:50 PDT, seller added the following information:
I neglected to mention that the case is numbered 226 B, probably separating it from the smaller vesta case.
