Page 2 has a great wealth of reporting on the Revolutionary War in America. It begins with a great letter from Sir Henry Clinton at New York, Aug. 14, 1780 with much on military action, mentioning: "During this time Washington, by a rapid movement, had, with an army increased to 12,000 men, passed the North River and was moving towards King's bridge..." with much more. Also extracts of four letters from General Cornwallis to Sir Henry Clinton concerning his work in the South, particularly around Charleston, South Carolina (see).
Page 3 has three-quarters of a column of reports from America, one item noting: "Congress money is in a bad plight. The inhabitants of a certain township in New England lately met, formed a funeral procession, and solemnly burned a quantity of Congress money. After covering it with earth they drove a stake through it..." with more (see). And yet another column has a letter from an officer on board the ship Iris dated at Rhode Island (see).

Four pages, folio size, partial red tax stamp on the front page, nice condition.

  1. A U.S. winner pays $7.00 S&H. Combined shipping is available for additional items won (within a 7 day period) for only $1.00 per item (excluding bound volumes) provided the items are paid for simultaneously.
  2. All U.S. orders include insurance and are guaranteed (at no additional cost to the buyer).
  3. All U.S. bound orders include delivery confirmation (if sent by USPS) and/or tracking (if sent by UPS).
  4. Expedited shipping is available for all orders upon request. Every effort is made to ship all orders within 24 business hours of receiving payment.
  5. Some items may be shipped 1st Class, especially if they are small. We will still provide tracking and insure them at our expense.
