GERMAN SILVER 18th C ANTIQUE SEWING COMPENDIUM ETUI THIMBLE BOBBIN NEEDLE CASE :

This is for a fabulous German 18th Century silver sewing compendium from the 1750s. The silver column stands on a blank seal baseand thetapered column is patterned in alternating panels. This lower section unscrews to store needles and above this the wider central section unscrews for more storage. Above this is the bobbin spool that has two sections for threads and this has the silver thimble that screws onto the very top. This is a rareset which has been beautifully preserved...its very crisp and hardly worn at all, in fact only really the thimble shows wear.The whole pieceis in A1 excellentcondition with no damage to it anywhere, there are no dents or splits in the silver and no repairs or restorations. The thimble has a fish scale design and this has a silver mark on the edge. The thimble has been used and has marks in the top. The whole casestands105mm just over 4\" tall, the middle section is 24mm (1\") in diameterand the thimble is 16mm in diameter at the base.
